Librarian report was presented by Julie Jones.  Check outs were way up from this time last year and no new delinquent patrons were added to the list.  Memorial bricks were placed for James T. Damery and John and Frances Robinson.  A committee update was given on purchases with the James T. Damery memorial money including new children’s chairs and a nice article Julie submitted to The Blue Mound Leader regarding the use of these funds.  Julie’s report also included upcoming events November 16th Ladies Night Out at the library and December 2 Santa’s visit to the library.  In regards to November 16th event, we will be in charge of the baked potato bar and Julie asked for members to bake sheet cakes.  We currently have 10 vendors signed up.  Storytime continues with 20-25 children present each week.  Business owners have graciously volunteered once again to allow Storytime children to Trick or Treat at their businesses and they will provide a treat for the children.  Lego Club was a success on Saturday with 14 kids attending.  Julie will also begin a Coats for Kids collection her at the Library.

Other items discussed in Julie’s report include clarification of some dates for closing or early closing.  At the November meeting we will discuss procedure for closing the Library due to bad weather, whether to close for Columbus Day, and the date for the 2018 Board meetings, especially the May meeting.

Julie discussed possibly having our local police department attend next month’s meeting to make a brief safety presentation in regards to the Per Capita Grant.  The Board is asked to read an informational packet Julie will have on her desk this month, as required.

In other business, Amy Brown made a motion and Dani Noland second that Kathy Brownlee add her name at the Blue Mound Bank for an approved temporary signature on checks.  Motion carried.

Motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:00p.m. made by Dani Noland and second by Amy Brown.  Motion carried.
