The Board recited the Pledge of Allegiance.

Secretary’s Report: President, Anne Byard verified that each Board member received and reviewed the October 24, 2022 Minutes that had been emailed.  Sharon Reynolds made a motion to accept the Minutes as presented.  Amy Brown seconded the motion.  The motion carried with all “Aye” votes.

Treasurer’s Report: There were no questions.  Julie Chapman made a motion to accept the Treasurers Report.  Sharon Reynolds seconded the motion.  The motion carried with all ‘Aye’ votes.

Librarian’s Report:

  • Julie would like to have the Annex carpet professionally cleaned. No one objected.  Julie will get it scheduled.
  • Julie Jones was unable to attend the Performance Showcase in Forsyth on Nov. 10th but will be talking to the Librarian from Forsyth to get her take on the program.
  • Twenty old year books have been taken by patrons but there are still a lot remaining. Julie will put another article in the paper and on Facebook before Christmas.
  • Monday 11/7 there was no heat in the Annex. Unable to contact Clark Plbg. and Htg., Design Heating and Air from Decatur was contacted and came the next day.  The pilot was out.  He lit the pilot and cleaned the furnace.  There had been heavy winds which probably blew it out.
  • Storage room ceiling was fixed and painted (including painting the entire storage room. It looks good.
  • Library will be closed on Monday, Dec 26th (since Christmas falls on a Sunday).
  • Coats for kids is going well.
  • Jig Saw Puzzles has not been advertized but several have been checked out and several have been returned.

Library Activities:

  • Adult Yoga for Beginners ended Nov 14th. It was appreciated by all those who attended.  Each participant paid $5 per week or $24 for 6 weeks.  The Library picked up the balance.
  • Next of Kiln met on Nov 10th with 19 attending making a Reindeer plate.
  • Book Club met on Nov 17th to discuss Daisy Jones & the Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid. Neysa Downs hosted with 11 members attending.
  • Story Time met for last time this session on Nov 16th.

Upcoming Programs:

  • Book Club will go out to eat at Charro’s in Taylorville and will discuss the book Skipping Christmas by John Grisham.
  • Santa will be coming Saturday, Dec 3rd…cookies needed. Claus will be here from 9:30 until noon.  Bill Deetz tested positive for COVID.  Amy gave Julie another name.

Old Business:

  • Bid for electric work in the Annex: Alice Reed discussed the receptacle project with Doug Dean of D & D for clarification concerning the $1316 bid to install a new outlet on a new line. He indicated that he would install two lines directly to the breaker box and each line would hold 20 amps.  One crock pot on high uses 12.5 amps which is why plugging two into the same receptacle (needing 25 amps) blows the breaker.  Doing this job would give the counter area three receptacles. During the October meeting it was voted to approve the project as long as there would be 2 new dedicated lines installed.
  • Trimble Construction was called to complete the ceiling above the refrigerator. They came and painted the ceiling and the entire room.
  • Per Capita Grant Review:
    • Safety Ch 6 reviewed by Sharon Reynolds found no differences since 2021
    • Collection Management Ch 7 reviewed by Sharon Reynolds found no differences since 2021

New Business:

  • Review Board meeting dates.

Motion to Adjourn:  With no further business to discuss, Julie Chapman made a motion to adjourn the meeting.  Sharon Reynolds seconded the motion.  The motion carried with all “Aye” votes.  The meeting adjourned at 7:10 p.m.
