The Blue Mound Memorial Library staff

Julie Jones retired December 31st, 2024! 

Our Library Staff and Board wish Julie nothing, but the best retirement has to offer! Julie lived in Blue Mound for 30+ years. She retired from the public school system, after 35 years of teaching 7 and 8 grade math courses. She and her husband Tom have 4 children and five Grandchildren. Julie was our Director for 8 and a half years and we were so Lucky to have her for so long. She is now enjoying some well-deserved time with her grandchildren and traveling with Tom! 

Audrey Miller became the Director of Blue Mound Memorial Library January 1st, 2025.

Audrey is a 4th generation Moweaqua Native. She graduated Central A & M High School in 2006 and subsequently attended Millikin University with concentrations in Biology and History. Audrey has been married to her Husband, Mike for 10 years and has 3 sons that keep her incredibly busy. She has also been the Lead Singer of a live music act, The Get Down for almost 10 years. In Audrey's very limited spare time, she reads, crochets, paints, makes guitar string jewelry and art, does photography and has a myriad of other hand crafting hobbies she enjoys. Audrey is elated to be a part of this community and is looking forward to building on what our Library currently offers and expanding its services and resources. 

Erin Ireland has been with the library for over a DECADE.  She is a resident of rural Boody. She and her husband, David, have three children and will be grandparents very soon. When she is not working at the library she loves to read, listen to Live Music and enjoys photography.  This Decatur native is a graduate of Eisenhower High School and attended Richland Community College. Erin has many duties here at the Library, but her favorite aspect of her job is staying connected with the community, sharing her love of reading and covering paperback books. We could not be more thankful for Erin on our staff. 

Monica Reynolds is a resident of Blue Mound and has lived in this area most all of her life. She has worked for the library for the past 19+ years in different capacities. She is a graduate of Blue Mound High School and attended Richland Community College. She also enjoys reading, crafting, painting, Boating and traveling with her husband, Kieth! Monica is also extremely busy running errands with her Mom and taking care of her grandchildren. Monica is a huge asset to our library. 

Ellie Fitzpatrick started working at the library in the December of 2021. She graduated in 2022 from Meridian High School. She is currently attending her Senior Year at Millikin University as a James Millikin Scholar while writing for The Decaturian and working for Blue Mound and Mt. Zion Libraries. She is currently spearheading a new Teen Program here at the Library and has plans to pursue a Master's Degree in Library and Information Science when she graduates from MU in the spring. We are incredibly fortunate to have her on our staff!!!

Support Staff

Alice Reed has been a been a part of the Blue Mound Library for the past 20+ years. She has been the Assistant Librarian, the Librarian, and is currently the Library's Bookkeeper. She has lived in Blue Mound for most of her life. She graduated from Blue Mound High School and is a graduate of both Richland and Millikin University.   She holds a Bachelors in Early Childhood Development. She and her husband Jeff have two sons and 3 granddaughters to keep them extremely busy along with being active in most aspects of the Blue Mound Community!

Carolyn Wetzel, has been a part of the Blue Mound Library Staff for the past 20 years as the Custodian. Carolyn is now retired from the Meridian School system.  She has four girls who all graduated from Blue Mound High School. Carolyn has been a resident of Blue Mound most all of her life. She is extremely active in our Storytime program and Book Club! Miss Carolyn's smile is the best part of our days. 

The Blue Mound Memorial Public Library provides free services to all residents living within the Blue Mound Library district, with services available to all others for a fee. Our friendly and professional staff is eager to serve you. Welcome to the Blue Mound Public Library!
