Treasurer’s Report: Alice informed the Board that the bank is offering a CD at 5.2% for 12 months. The Library has money in another CD that can be cashed in and put into this CD at a much better rate of return. After some discussion Anne made a motion to look into moving money from the special reserve into the 12 month CD at 5.2%. Sharon Reynolds seconded the motion. The motion carried with all ‘Aye’ votes. The Library’s attorney will be at the July meeting and will be able to answer questions about the money in special reserves. Amy Brown made a motion to accept the Treasurer’s Report. Julie Chapman seconded the motion. The motion carried with all “Aye’ votes.
Librarian’s Report:
- The Per Capita Grant was approved for $3,402.14 which is $27 more than 2023.
- GFL did not pick up the trash for 4 weeks, perhaps hindered by the excavation of the tanks at
P & G. Julie contacted them and they have picked it up for the past two weeks.
- Aaron Damery will be moving the first of July and submitted a proposal for him to continue to service the four Library computers remotely at a rate of $80 per month which includes backup for Alice’s computer. Alice said she backs up her computer on a thumb drive. After some discussion, the Board agreed that the fee was too high and we should look into other options and compare prices.
